Arguably one of the most authentic Ross designs in America today — a private golf and country club on the Georgia coast since 1899.
In 1938, the Club engaged Donald Ross — the most prolific and celebrated golf architect of his era — to design the back nine and redesign the front nine greens. All 18 holes opened officially on Labor Day 1939.
When Love Golf Design undertook a painstaking restoration in 2006–2007, excavators uncovered the original Ross sketches and 14 inches of intact black topsoil — the 1938 greens, exactly as Ross had left them. The course that emerged is arguably one of the most authentic Ross designs in America today.

'Dynamite' Goodloe claimed the inaugural title in 1949. Seventy-six editions later, the Golden Isles Invitational remains one of the most prestigious amateur events on the Eastern Seaboard — part of the fabric of this club and the Georgia coast community.
Played from the Blue Tees at 6,800 yards, the event draws college players, seasoned amateurs, and former tour professionals. Bill Ploeger holds the record with 11 championship wins. Davis Love III, Andy Bean, and Vaughn Taylor are among its decorated alumni.
